While Heather was here visiting she did some video blogs for her radio station. You can click on this link, and then look for Europe in the title. http://pointradio.com/pages/546575.php
There are still a couple of entries (I think) that she has to put up still. They are from our day trip to Rome.
We have finally received our shipment with all of our furniture. Yeah! We have spent the last couple of days setting up shop in our new place. The best and most gratifying moment was when I was able to lay down on my own bed. It was like laying on a million jett-puffed marshmallows that sent me in to an immediate restful sleep. The price we paid for that luxurious mattress was well worth it… in fact, I would have paid twice as much money for the heavenly comfort that we experienced (especially after months of a rock-hard hotel bed and an air mattress).
We are so happy to finally get settled. There is nothing like the comfort of your own things! Thankfully we have everything ready to host our next guest(s), Lindsey… and then Catie. We are looking forward to it!
Heather left today after her whirl-wind visit to Naples/Rome. We were able to show her downtown Naples, one of the open-air markets, and the crazy crazy driving! On Tuesday we left Josh behind (he had to work 😦 ) and made the trip up to Rome.
Rome is an awesome place to visit! We started out with a private tour of the Vatican City. It was an amazing tour with so much beauty and history. We are happy that we were there on Tuesday, because they were going to have a special mass on Wednesday to celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II. The Pope was going to give mass to a crowd of 20-some thousand people that day. Our tour guide was fantastic. I hope that we will be using her for other tours in the future.
After our 4-hour tour, we rested up and went out to dinner at a quaint eatery close to the Spanish Steps. It was crazy that night because of the championship football (soccer) game that night: Rome vs Manchester. There were tons of places that closed down. Too bad that the rival game ended with the Romans losing.
The next day we tooled around Rome: Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain. It was such a short stay, but I will be going back soon… ahhh the luxury of living in Italy. Heather, on the other hand, has to wait until her next visit…. which she is already highly anticipating.
It was great to see our friend….. and we can’t wait for more visitors!!! Take a look at the pictures from Rome. They start out in the Vatican, and then you can guess the other hot spots…….. (Click on the picture to make it bigger)
