Just a few weeks to go

Filed under: Uncategorized — laurenwenker @ 10:49 am

Josh and I have had a busy weekend. We went to Oktoberfest, made a hospital run, visited friends with a new baby, watched football over at a friend’s house, made a new dog friend for Rosco over at the park and dinner tonight with friends! All in 2 days!

Oktoberfest was fun… mostly for Josh this year. He loves having a constant DD! Two of our other pregnant friends were there with their husbands. Talk about looking out of place! The three pregnant ladies surrounded by steins of beer.

Our hospital run was a relieving experience. At my last check up the doctor had me on ‘watch’ for preeclampsia. After a night of multiple symptoms, Josh took me in to get some testing done. After an hour of monitoring me and the baby, they determined that I do not have preeclampsia at the moment. I was released feeling much better that I would not have to go in to immediate labor. So, a few more weeks. Maybe 🙂

surprise baby shower

Filed under: Keegan — laurenwenker @ 11:12 am

On Saturday Josh surprised me with a baby shower.. hosted and created by our friends Laurie and Amanda. The baby shower was at a great restaurant called La Taverna dei Sapori. The owner Mariella opened the restaurant just for the event!

The men were forced to play games, which was great because I am used to participating at these sort of parties. It was nice to chuckle at them for once! I thought Josh looked especially nice as a pregnant lady!

The meal was fantastic. Mariella served finger foods all afternoon. When dinner started, there were 2 appetizer courses, 2 pasta courses, mussels, meats and DOLCE! The food was so much… and so good!

Here are some pictures from the evening. I wish I could have taken pictures of the food, but my camera battery ran out.

Thanks again everyone! I had a great time!

wetting down

Filed under: Uncategorized — laurenwenker @ 9:56 am

Last night Josh and I went to a “wetting down” party for our friend Carl who was recently promoted. The party was in a neat little town called Monte di Procida. For those who would like to see what an Italian Scottish pub looks like, you can check out the website http://www.tommyspub.it/ Carl and Heidi hired an Italian band who played ‘American rock’. The party was great fun.

Heidi is my friend who is due one day after me. It is always nice to get together and compare notes. However, after last night I told Heidi that we can no longer take photos together. Heidi looks crazy good for being pregnant! She embodies the cute pregnant lady look. Seriously, I am twice her size. Josh thinks their baby will be half the size of ours!

Josh and I just returned from our last solo vacation! We spent the last couple of days in Tuscany. While there Josh took some pictures of my growing belly. Only a little while to go before baby Wenker joins us!
